Anti-Corruption & Transparency

Anti – Corruption & Transparency

Corruption and the lack of transparency in the system hinders the economic development of the country. It also diverts resources from the essential services which are required for public welfare to individual’s unethical gains. It seriously affects the capacity of honest people to work and indeed the corruption network in India is as such that even honest persons working with the system are compelled to adopt corrupt practices.

The impact of corruption in our society is as such that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by United Nations in 2015 make an explicit link between corruption and peaceful, just and inclusive societies. SDG 16 and its targets on reducing bribery, strengthening institutions and accessing information are not only valuable aspirations on their own, they are also vital conditions for the achievement of all the 17 SDGs.

AGAM, primarily focus in this area to reduce corruption and increase transparency and accountability of the system by raising awareness among the general masses about different corruption laws present in India, Right to Information Act, etc. and train people about how to use these potent tools to fight corruption, advocate legal and policy reforms at state levels, design practical tools for institutions, individuals and companies wishing to combat corruption; and act as a leading centre of anti-corruption expertise in India.
